Construction has always been appealing to Sara as it combines her love for the remodeling industry with her project management and customer relations experience. Sara began her career as a teacher and then moved into curriculum development, and training for a literacy organization. After spending more than a decade in education, she then moved into non-profit management. For the past 15 years Sara has been leading the day-to-day operations of a wide array of associations, driving growth and new business to help companies grow nationally and globally.

Her transition to the remodeling industry was inspired by her passion for beautiful, well designed homes and her interest in making a space more useful and visually appealing. Over the years she has even undertaken several remodeling projects with her husband. Completing her own projects has allowed her to experience all stages of the process firsthand; from the concept phase, to the architectural renderings, to figuring out the sequence of the work and the logistics of each part of the project. As our Project Coordinator, Sara is looking forward to working with our team and seeing a project from start to finish. For her, success is when clients are happy with the work we've done, we’ve guided them through a project and it has been managed well. 

 

When not at work, you can find her at one of her son's baseball games (she has three boys and they all play baseball!), walking her dog, going on a run with friends or hanging out on a neighbor’s patio!

What is your ideal weekend getaway?

At the beach, sitting next to my husband with my feet in the sand and reading a good book, getting to sleep in and having a great meal and an even better glass of wine.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

From my first boss, who said: "It’s fine to come to me with any issue or a problem. But it is way better to come to me with ideas in mind to offer up as possible solutions."

What’s on your bookshelf?Lots of fiction like The Paper Palace and American Dirt. Plenty of kid rearing books and remodeling magazines and books.

Which three people do you invite to a dinner party?

I would invite my Dad - he passed away several years ago and I miss him every day. Probably Ruth Bader Ginsburg, she was so incredibly smart and a trailblazer as a woman in her field, I would love to hear her thoughts and how she forged a friendship with Justice Scalia over the years despite their very different views. And finally, I'd add David Sedaris to the party, as he is one of my favorite writers and is so funny.

If you knew you couldn’t fail, what would you try?

I do not know if I will fail, but making this career shift is what I would be doing and I am doing it!
