The Best of 2024: Top 3 Home Renovations That Stole the Show

As 2024 winds down, our team put the blueprints on pause to select some of our standout projects—no easy task, to say the least. After much deliberation, we’ve narrowed it down to three home renovations that truly captured our hearts this year.

Project 1: Primary Bathroom + Kitchen Renovation in Arlington, VA

A Spa Wrapped in Tile and Light, One Door Down

The original primary bathroom had plenty of space, but it wasn’t living up to its full potential (just like that treadmill corner in your bedroom). Our clients dreamed of a spa-like retreat where they could unwind and feel pampered right at home (you too huh?), so we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.

A once dark and confined shower is now the centerpiece of the space—a bright, airy wet room with timeless neutral tile work. We kept the dual sinks that the clients loved (because sharing is always a non-negotiable in the morning) but upgraded the vanity storage to keep everything organized and fresh.

A Kitchen That Aged Out of Awkward

After 14 years, the kitchen was showing all the signs of its teenage years—scuffed, outdated, and begging for some attention. Resurfacing the cabinets added the perfect pop of color, paired with new countertops and a textured tile backsplash. The open concept stayed intact, the existing appliances got their moment, and the whole space feels like it’s ready for the next 14 years and then some.

Project 2: Kitchen, Living Room + Bathroom Refresh in Arlington, VA

After nearly seven years in their home, the clients had tackled a primary suite renovation early on, but the kitchen had been on their wish list from day one. Over time, the home’s quirks turned into daily annoyances, and the space that once “kind of worked” just wasn’t cutting it anymore.

More Counter Space Needed? Yes, Chef!

The remodeled kitchen is unrecognizable from the old. An open layout, generous counter space, and a beautiful central island set the stage for all the home cooking dates they’ve been waiting for. The brass details pop beautifully off the deep black of the island, adding that soft warmth all kitchens deserve.

Chandelier: Shades of Light Bianca Pendant

Moody Hues, Golden Highlights

You know those couples who always seem to have people over, and you’re left wondering how they keep up? That’s these clients. They loved hosting, but their living room wasn’t exactly pulling its weight. It was cramped, and fitting friends and family into the space, making it feel more like a game of Tetris than vibey entertainment. With its dark, speakeasy-inspired charm, their renovated living room is made for hosting. It’s stylish, warm, and feels like a night out—without leaving the couch.

Because First Impressions Start In The Powder Room

With all the new guest nights lined up, the clients also wanted to upgrade their guest bathroom. First stop: ditching the plain white tiles. Instead, we lined the walls with textured 3D wood paneling that added depth and warmth, perfectly offset by bold black accents throughout.

Project 3: Reimagined Kitchen, Living Room, Master Bathroom + Dressing Room in Fairfax, VA

Goodbye Awkward Wall, Hello Open Space

Welcome to the kitchen that just got its groove back! Gone are the days of awkward walls and disconnected spaces. We kicked that barrier to the curb and created an open space for stress–free mornings.

We love the bold pops of red from the oven and the bright sienna chairs bring just the right amount of heat to the otherwise minimal and luxurious layout.

Lights Up + Walls Down

We elevated their living room space by building it up opposite the sofa and creating a stunning feature with integrated shelving. A touch of classic leather in the chairs complete the space, turning it into a cozy little conversation nook.

A White Marble Moment in the Master Bath

We decided to make the most of the curved window in this new bathroom, using it to our advantage. To amplify the natural light, we paired it with minimal white marble and replaced the bathtub with a sleek water closet.

Mirrors were placed strategically to flood the space with light, making it feel open and airy. The warm wood tones of the vanity balance it all out, adding just enough warmth for those steamy, spa-like moments.
