At last, a kitchen to last
Like a perfect apple with a bruise, everything in the house was beautiful – except the kitchen. Not only could they not open the freezer door all the way, two badly-placed wing-walls kept them from seeing their children.
Something had to change.
To give them more room, we completely reconfigured the space. The result? A kitchen, eating nook and pantry that changed the flow of the whole area and gave them the scope to have their bold color choices appreciated.
Instead of a bulky oven hood that would dominate the kitchen, we designed the space with a slim-lined hood and put the ventilation in the cabinets, which keeps the lines super sleek and accentuates the beautiful backsplash tile. A multicolored hardwood stain is the perfect background for their yellow stool legs, and as a final touch, we replaced all the HVAC filters to match their new aesthetic.
